Over the past two decades, Hungarian painter Róbert Batykó has cultivated one of the most distinctive and consistent artistic positions in contemporary painting. His latest artworks, created in 2023 during a six-month artist-in-residence program in Haarlem, the Netherlands, represent another significant milestone in his oeuvre. These new paintings were first unveiled in late 2023 at solo and group exhibitions in Haarlem, then at Art Rotterdam 2024, and are currently being exhibited at the acb Gallery in Budapest. In celebration of Batykó's iconic pictorial universe, Dutch photographer and filmmaker Robert Lipton crafted this documentary during the artist's residency program.
