Márton Nemes
About the artist
Márton Nemes (1986) studied painting at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Budapest and he earned his M.F.A. at Chelsea College of Arts, London in 2018. In the past years he was based in London. Nemes also attended artist-in-residency programs in the USA in Buffalo and in Westport. He received the prestigious Esterházy Art Award for emerging Hungarian artists in 2019. His large-scale work is part of the public collection of Ludwig Museum, Budapest.
Márton Nemes had recently solo exhibitons in acb Gallery, Budapest, Fold Gallery, London, Annka Kultys Gallery, London and Erika Deák Gallery, Budapest. He also had instiutional solo exhibitions in Hungary in King Saint Stephen Museum, Székesfehérvár, Art Gallery, Paks and Institute for Contemporary Art, Dunaújváros. His works were featured in internatinal exhibitions at Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst und Medien, Graz, BWA Warszawa, Warsaw and Museum of Contemporary Art, Budapest.
